Traffic CCTV cameras and road surveillance in Saudi Arabia
CCTV gives traffic operators eyes on the road: they can confirm an incident, see why a junction is congested and guide the response. X Arena supplies, installs and maintains traffic CCTV and surveillance systems for roads, intersections, facilities and industrial sites across Saudi Arabia, from our office in Jubail in the Eastern Province.
A dependable CCTV system is the result of several correct choices: the camera type for each location, the pole and mounting, the power and network that feed it, the recording and the video management software in the control room. We design and deliver these as one system.
Cameras and functions
PTZ cameras
Pan-tilt-zoom cameras let the operator look along a corridor and zoom in on an event from the control room.
Fixed and multi-sensor cameras
Fixed cameras watch a defined scene continuously, such as a junction, a ramp or a gate.
ANPR cameras
Automatic number plate recognition reads vehicle plates for access control, enforcement support and journey-time measurement.
Thermal cameras
Thermal imaging detects vehicles and people in darkness, dust and fog where ordinary cameras struggle.
The system behind the cameras
Poles, enclosures and mounting
Camera poles, brackets and outdoor housings selected for wind load, heat and dust, with safe access for maintenance.
Power and network
Power supply, surge protection, fibre or wireless links and network switches in roadside cabinets.
Recording and storage
Network video recorders and storage sized for the retention period that the client requires.
Video management system
VMS software and video walls that bring all cameras into one control room view and connect with other traffic systems.
Where traffic CCTV is used
Intersections and corridors
Monitoring of signalised junctions and main roads to support the signal operation.
Highways, bridges and tunnels
Incident verification and monitoring of critical sections.
Industrial cities and facilities
Surveillance of access roads, gates, yards and perimeters.
Work zones and events
Temporary monitoring of diversions and of roads around events.
Frequently asked questions about traffic CCTV
What is the difference between traffic CCTV and video detection?
CCTV is for people: it shows live and recorded video to an operator. Video detection is for machines: it analyses the image and sends detector signals or data to a controller. Many projects use both, sometimes on the same pole.
What is ANPR?
ANPR stands for automatic number plate recognition. A camera reads the plate of each passing vehicle and turns it into text that software can use for access control, journey-time measurement or support of enforcement.
Can cameras work without mains power?
Yes. Where a grid connection is far away or expensive, a camera site can be powered by solar panels and batteries and connected by a wireless link.
How long is video stored?
The retention period is set by the client and by the applicable regulations. The storage is sized for the number of cameras, the resolution and the number of days required.
Does X Arena install CCTV systems across Saudi Arabia?
Yes. X Arena supplies, installs and maintains traffic CCTV and surveillance systems throughout Saudi Arabia. Our office is in Jubail, Eastern Province.
